The MG996R Servo Motor is a high-torque metal-gear digital servo from TowerPro, delivering strong holding torque and shock-resistant gearing in a standard servo footprint. It is a popular choice for robotic arms, RC vehicles, pan-tilt mechanisms, and other builds that need more muscle than a micro servo can provide.

  • Metal Gear Train: All-metal gears and double ball bearings give better shock resistance and a longer service life than plastic-gear servos.
  • High Torque: Delivers about 9.4 kg.cm of torque at 4.8V and up to 11 kg.cm at 6V, enough for small robotic arms and RC steering.
  • Wide Voltage Range: Operates anywhere from 4.8V to 7.2V, so it works with common 5V and 6V hobby power supplies.
  • Standard Connector: Uses a universal 3-pin servo connector compatible with Futaba, JR, Hitec and most RC receivers and controllers.
  • 180° Rotation: Covers roughly 120° to 180° of rotation depending on the pulse range sent by the controller.
