The MQ-5 LPG and Natural Gas Sensor Module uses an MQ-5 tin-dioxide sensing element to detect LPG, natural gas, town gas and methane. It is a straightforward, low-cost option for home gas-leak alarms and combustible-gas monitoring projects.

Key features:

  • Targeted Gas Detection: Highly sensitive to LPG, natural gas, town gas and methane, with lower sensitivity to alcohol and smoke.
  • Wide Concentration Range: Detects combustible gas concentrations from roughly 200 to 10,000 ppm.
  • Dual Signal Output: Provides an analog output (AO) for concentration level and a digital output (DO) for threshold alerts.
  • Adjustable Sensitivity: An onboard potentiometer sets the digital trigger point.
  • Fast Response and Recovery: Reacts quickly to rising gas levels and recovers once the gas clears.
  • Standard 4-Pin Header: VCC, GND, DO and AO pins connect directly to Arduino, ESP32 or similar boards.
