The MQ-2 Smoke and Flammable Gas Sensor Module uses an MQ-2 tin-dioxide sensing element to detect smoke together with LPG, propane, butane, methane, alcohol and hydrogen gas. It is a popular low-cost choice for home gas-leak alarms and smoke-detection projects.

  • Wide Concentration Range: Detects gas concentrations from roughly 200 to 10,000 ppm.
  • Dual Signal Output: Provides an analog output (AO) for concentration level and a digital output (DO) for threshold alerts.
  • Adjustable Sensitivity: An onboard potentiometer sets the digital trigger threshold.
  • Fast Response: Reacts within seconds to rising gas or smoke levels.
  • Standard 4-Pin Header: VCC, GND, DO and AO pins wire directly to Arduino and similar microcontroller boards.
