The TCRT5000 5-Channel Infrared Line Tracking Sensor Module is a robotics sensor bar built around five independent TCRT5000 reflective infrared pairs, designed to detect the contrast between a black line and a light-colored surface. It gives line-following robots and smart cars fast, reliable path-tracking feedback.

Key features:

  • Five TCRT5000 Sensors: Five infrared emitter-receiver pairs mounted in a row give wide, accurate coverage of the tracked line.
  • Digital Outputs: Each channel produces its own digital high/low signal, so all five can be read directly by a microcontroller.
  • Per-Channel Sensitivity: Individual onboard potentiometers let you tune each sensor to the surface and lighting conditions.
  • Close-Range Detection: Reliable detection distance of a few millimeters up to about 15mm above the surface.
  • Mounting Slots: Long mounting holes make it easy to bolt the bar to the underside of a robot chassis.
  • Ready-to-Wire Header: A labeled pin header with jumper wires simplifies connection to Arduino and similar boards.
