The Mini 12V DC Submersible Water Pump is a compact R385-style diaphragm pump that moves water and other non-corrosive liquids using a small 12V DC motor. It is widely used in mini fountains, hydroponics, cooling loops, and other low-flow Arduino and Raspberry Pi automation projects.
Key features:
- Operating Voltage: Runs from a 12V DC supply, drawing 0.5A to 0.7A under normal load and 0.18A at no load.
- Flow Rate: Delivers approximately 1.5 to 2 litres per minute, enough for small fountains and irrigation drips.
- Suction and Lift: Can self-prime with up to 2 metres of suction and lift water vertically up to 3 metres.
- Compact Build: Measures about 90mm x 40mm x 35mm and weighs around 106g, so it fits easily inside small enclosures.
- In/Out Barbed Outlets: Fitted with 6mm inlet and outlet barbs that accept standard flexible tubing.
- Long Service Life: Rated for roughly 2500 hours of continuous operation and tolerates water up to 80°C.
Pair it with a relay or MOSFET driver to switch it from a microcontroller, since it draws more current than a GPIO pin can supply directly.
